About Linda
Having first set up in independent speech therapy practice in 2012, Linda has developed a depth of knowledge and expertise through her work in the Encouraging Words Clinic and more recently at the Edinburgh Speech Therapy Centre. As well as enjoying the diversity of working with clients with a wide and varied range of speech, language and communication needs, she has developed specialist interests in the fields of speech sound disorders, particularly developmental verbal dyspraxia, and in early dysfluency.
Prior to joining the independent sector, Linda worked in NHS paediatric services (2006-2012); initially providing community clinics based in hospital out-patient units and health centres, before joining the additional support needs team to work in schools with children whose complex needs required intervention within their educational setting.
Linda works in close collaboration with leading members of the speech and language therapy profession through her collaboration with ASLTIP Scotland (in which she currently holds the post of secretary) and within Help Me Talk; a social enterprise company which aims to promote early language development. She also provides mentorship services to other speech and language therapists based in the UK and overseas.
Linda trained at Queen Margaret University College (2002-2006). Since qualifying she has been registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and is a member of The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and The Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP).
