Early Language Delay/Late Talkers

Early language delay refers to children who are not developing their first words within expected timeframes or when language development is not progressing at the expected rate.

Attending an appointment for an early language evaluation provides parents with a depth of knowledge and advice. Following this, some parents may decide to follow strategies provided by the therapist and monitor progress, while others may opt for an intervention programme designed to accelerate their child’s language learning. All parents who attend an initial assessment at ESTC will have the reassurance of knowing that they can contact their therapist for a further advice/intervention appointment at any time as required.
